It is with great sadness that I inform you of the duty related death of Brother Andy Klatt of North Maine Firefighter’s Local 2224. Brother Klatt passed away Tuesday, April 14th, 2026, from occupational cancer. Brother Klatt was 47 years old. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca.

By orders of AFFI President Chuck Sullivan, the AFFI Honor Guard is activated.

Visitation: Wednesday, April 22nd, 2026, from 0930hrs – 1130hrs, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help- 1775 Grove St., Glenview, IL 60025.

Uniformed Personnel Walk-Through: Wednesday, April 22nd, 2026, at 1030hrs, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help- 1775 Grove St., Glenview, IL 60025. Honor Guard members should arrive no later than 0930hrs.

Funeral Mass: Wednesday, April 22nd, 2026, at 1130hrs, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help- 1775 Grove St., Glenview, IL 60025.

Graveside Service: Wednesday, April 22nd, 2026, at 1300hrs, at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery- 8600 N. Milwaukee Ave., Niles, IL 60714.

Please be aware that this is another activation, in addition to the Schaumburg activation that went out on Wednesday. This makes four member deaths in less than a month now. Nothing ever gets easier. Please plan to be there and bring Local flags and tools for the services. I know, as always, you will all do Whatever It Takes to Honor, Cherish, Remember, and Salute Brother Klatt, his family, and his Local.
