Northern District Trustee Kip Bordeau
Kip Bordeau was elected as the AFFI Northern District Trustee in June of 2026 by the delegates of the 45rd Biennial Convention, in Springfield. Kip was hired by the Elgin Fire Department in July 2018 as a Firefighter/Paramedic. In 2020, he was elected to the position of Steward by the members of Elgin Association of Firefighters, IAFF Local 439. Kip was then elected to his current position of Vice President of Local 439 in August 2023.
Central District Trustee Clayton Matteson
Clayton Matteson was elected as the AFFI Central District Trustee in June of 2020 by the delegates of the 43rd Biennial Convention. Clayton was hired by the Bloomington Fire Department in May 2007 as a Firefighter/Paramedic. In 2010, he was elected to the position of Treasurer by the membership of Bloomington Firefighters Union – IAFF Local 49. Clayton has also served as Local 49’s Vice President and President. Currently, he serves as the Chairman of Local 49’s Political Action Committee.
