In early April 1974, Canton Fire Fighters Local 1897 became an unlikely strike location.
In a true show of unionism, the 53 hour strike was successful largely due to the support of the United Mine Workers, United Auto Workers, and collaboration with the Canton Police Officers union.
Their job action resulted in the first signed contract for Local 1897. #makehistoryhappen
