Passport Alert for 2022 IAFF Convention

,

The IAFF 56th Convention is scheduled for August 8-12, 2022, in Ottawa, Canada.

Canadian law requires that all persons entering Canada carry both proof of citizenship and proof of identity. A valid U.S. passport, passport card or NEXUS card satisfies these requirements for U.S. citizens.

Entry into the United States: When traveling by air from Canada, U.S. citizens are required by U.S. law to present a U.S. passport book.

If you do not have a passport, we encourage you to apply for a passport now as processing times can take several months. If you have a passport, it’s a good time to check the expiration date. You must have more than six months remaining on your passport to travel.

Many United States Postal Service® offices can accept passport applications on behalf of the United States Department of State. You should review the information on the U.S. Post Office website or usa.gov website for information on obtaining a passport.
